About Me:

I’m Casey. I graduated school about 6 years ago, and spend most of my time now with a camera in my hands, mostly at concerts, but also the occasional baseball game or any other adventure I can find. I live in the ever changing Lowertown District of St. Paul. Outside of photography, I enjoy cooking, entertaining, and constantly rearranging the furniture in my apartment.
Ask me where I wanted to be 10 years ago, I wouldn’t have said "Photographer" I wouldn’t have been able to imagine the opportunities I’ve had with a camera in my hands. It began with being handed my mom’s Olympus to photograph family gatherings, and evolved to a carry-on bag full of equipment to photography people and stories at an international level; a place I never expected I would be.
My roots lie in documentary photography. I’ve shot many a wedding, and what may be too many concerts for one person to handle. Thank goodness I figured out to wear earplugs early.
My senior year in high school, I was selected to be the lead photo editor for our school’s yearbook. It was every bit as challenging as it was exciting, and allowed me to cover everything from football games to math clubs, and learn what made each of these activities interesting throughout the year.
The biggest thing I learned is that many people put tons of thought into their senior photos, and the one they put in the yearbook. I spoke with one student who seemed to change it daily. A friend of mine wanted them redone the moment they saw their photos. It’s a very confusing, tumultuous time of your life. And with the instantaneous gratification of selfies and snaps, It can be hard to select one photo to define who you are your senior year. Selecting a photo in the yearbook isn’t a “felt cute might delete later” scenario, although, it does make a good senior quote.
That being said, it was dispiriting to see photos from the outdated photography company my school sent students to use. Many students had photos all taken with the same photographer on the same drab gray backdrop, in virtually the same clothes. You know the look. How is your senior photo supposed to stand out from the crowd if the crowd is all using the same photographer?
Long story short, you’re unique, and your photos deserve to show that. In a world where photos are instantaneous and something we scroll through and <3, it’s important to remind ourselves that photos are meant to be remembered. Do you remember every photo you’ve seen today? Photos are meant to be looked back upon for years to come. They always have been, and they always will be. Not only is that the reason why I want to blend a timeless look with contemporary style, but also the reason I offer printed products that you’ll treasure for a lifetime. You can read more on that here.
I’ve made it my goal to make sure that your photos show how unique you are, and what you bring to the world right now. And I would be honored to be the photographer that helps you show that.
